Peripheral Nerve Sensitivity: The Missing Link in Orthopedic and Sports Medicine for the Upper and Lower Quarter

The purpose of this course is to facilitate understanding, to identify patients with Peripheral nerve sensitivity, and to apply didactic constructs to the practical application of evaluation and treatment in patients with peripheral nerve sensitivity. The course includes two video presentations to be reviewed before the course. The first video will cover basic anatomy, physiology of pain mechanisms, and an introduction to pain phenotyping. The second video will cover the didactic portion of the course and the introduction of constructs of peripheral nerve sensitivity and clinical presentations. The in-person portion of the course will be focused on practical application, clinical reasoning, including lab for practice and facilitating hands-on skills, and the development of home exercise programs. Day one is focused on Upper quarter dysfunction, and day two is focused on Lower quarter dysfunction. Beyond the one and two-day course, an optional follow-up Zoom meeting will be held 3 weeks after the course (7 PM to 9 PM) to facilitate integration of new concepts once participants have had an opportunity to apply the information.
