Vestibular Rehabilitation: Clinical Reasoning, Evaluation, and Clinical Management

Course Dates: October 2-3, 2026 This two-day intensive course provides an evidence-informed, clinically integrated approach to the examination and management of individuals with vestibular disorders and concussion/mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning, differential diagnosis, and application of current clinical practice guidelines within a biopsychosocial model of care. Vestibular content integrates central and peripheral vestibular anatomy and pathophysiology with examination and management of common conditions, including benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), peripheral vestibular hypofunction, and central vestibular and ocular dysfunction. Concussion content addresses relevant anatomy and pathophysiology, clinical profiles, interdisciplinary management, and assessment of cervical, autonomic, exertional, vestibular, ocular, cognitive-motor, and headache-related impairments. Laboratory experiences emphasize the application and progression of examination and intervention strategies, including repositioning maneuvers, vestibular rehabilitation, exertional assessment, and dual-task training. Persistent symptoms following concussion, persistent postural-perceptual dizziness, whiplash-associated presentations, fear avoidance, and the integration of trauma-informed and cognitive-behavioral approaches are incorporated to support individualized, comprehensive clinical management.
